Alliance Recovery Center: Our Philosophy

People begin using drugs for several different reasons such as, peer-pressure, to escape from physical or emotional pain, boredom, and depression or other mental health issues. It is our goal at Alliance Recovery Center to take a holistic approach to recovery. We do not only treat the disease of addiction, we treat the whole person. Our clients will learn to utilize tools and copingskills to enhance their quality of life. The staff at Alliance Recovery Center is dedicated to assist the consumer in making positive lifestyle changes. Every client is different and has his/her own set ofunique needs and experiences. Some may choose life-long methadone or Buprenorphine maintenance while others may choose to become less dependent upon medication. The length of time in treatment will vary from one person to another. The staff at Alliance will work with each person to match treatment to each individual’s specific needs. We believe that addiction is a disease and we treat our clients as patients who are suffering from an illness. We do not think of addiction as a choice but more as a disease of choice.

  • No single treatment is appropriate for all individuals.
  • Treatment needs to be readily available.
  • Effective treatment attends to the multiple needs of the individual,
    not just his/her drug use.
  • An individual’s treatment plan must be assessed continually
and modified as necessary to ensure that the plan meets the person’s
    changing needs.
  • Remaining in treatment for an adequate period of time is critical for
    treatment effectiveness.
  • Counseling (individual and/or group) and other behavioral therapies are
critical components of effective treatment for addiction.
  • Medications are an important element of treatment for many patients,
especially when combined with counseling and other behavioral therapies.
  • Addicted or drug-abusing individuals with coexisting mental disorders
should have both disorders treated in an integrated way.
  • Possible drug-use during treatment must be monitored continuously.
  • Treatment programs should provide assessment for HIV/AIDS, hepatitis B
and C, tuberculosis, and other infectious diseases, and counseling to modify
or change behaviors that place themselves or others at risk of infection.
  • Recovery from drug addiction can be a long-term process and
frequently requires multiple episodes of treatment.
